Born in Lima, Peru, Ursula’s journey spans Florence, Miami, and Lisbon, infusing her cooking with an artistic sensibility shaped by her background in Art & Restoration. In Florence, she absorbed the aesthetics and traditions of Italian culture before moving to Miami, where she worked at acclaimed restaurants like Caffè Milano and I Tre Merli. She later opened Big Fish, celebrated for its refined Mediterranean menu with Spanish influences.
Now in Lisbon, Ursula consults for prestigious restaurants such as Marisco na Praça in Cascais and Vesuviano in Lisbon, crafting menus centered on local, seasonal, and sustainable ingredients. As founder of her boutique catering company, she designs unique, collaborative dining experiences, imagining each event from the guests’ perspective to create moments of surprise and delight.
“I cook with my heart before I cook with my hands,” she says. Her cuisine honors the essence of every ingredient—never overworked, never disguised—guided by quality, respect for tradition, and sensitivity to waste. Elegant yet understated, her dishes reflect quiet confidence and balance.
